Skip court. Cut costs. Keep your record clean. Flat fees, no surprises — we handle the rest.
A Chaplin ticket is handled at Danielson Superior Court (GA11), so you want a lawyer who knows that court and Connecticut traffic law — not a generalist.
Chaplin is a small, rural town in Windham County, in the northeastern Quiet Corner of Connecticut, with the Natchaug River running diagonally through it — entering at the northeast corner and leaving at the southwest, gathering brooks along the way. The town takes its name from Deacon Benjamin Chaplin, a wealthy early settler who built his home along the river and, on his death in 1795, left money to found an ecclesiastical society and build a meeting house near his homestead. That bequest seeded the village, and Chaplin was incorporated as its own town in 1822 — the state’s 124th — from parts of Hampton, Mansfield, and Windham.
What makes Chaplin unusual is how well its early village survived. The heart of town is the Chaplin Historic District, listed on the National Register in 1978, a roughly four-fifths-of-a-mile stretch of Chaplin Street lined with some forty-three contributing buildings — Federal and Greek Revival homes, a tavern, a general store, and other early structures set near the Natchaug. The village became something of a time capsule when Route 198 was straightened in 1929 and bypassed the old street, sparing it the modern alterations that reshaped so many New England centers. To walk Chaplin Street is to see an early-19th-century river village largely intact.
Beyond the village, Chaplin is woods and water. The Natchaug draws people to spots like Diana’s Pool, a rocky gorge and swimming hole along the river, and the surrounding forest keeps the town quiet and green. It is the kind of place defined less by what happens there than by what has been preserved.
A town this rural concentrates its traffic on just two roads. U.S. Route 6 carries the main east-west flow through town, and Route 198 runs north-south past the historic village toward the river country. Those corridors handle most of the through-travel — and the citations that come with it. We keep track of these roads and the enforcement along them, which is generally where the violations covered below begin.

David Villa knows what it’s like when the government has a grip on your life — and he’s built his career standing between drivers and the power of the state.
People often ask him how he can defend those accused of breaking the law. His answer is simple: he's not defending the offense, he's defending a right.

Connecticut has two very different camera systems watching drivers. One mails you a $50 fine. The other, Flock, feeds police investigations. Here's how to tell them apart.
Read Article →It isn't required, but a ticket can mean more than the fine — points and a possible insurance increase. A lawyer who handles Connecticut traffic cases can explain your options and often appear for you so you don't have to take time off.
Continuances delay a case but don't resolve it, and stacking them up can drag things out without changing the result. It's usually better to have the ticket reviewed and a genuine plan put in place.
Chaplin cases go to Danielson Superior Court (GA11), which serves Chaplin and the other Quiet Corner towns of Windham County.
In many traffic matters an attorney can appear at the Danielson court on your behalf, so a personal trip may not be necessary. We can review your ticket and tell you what your appearance would involve.
Depending on the violation and your record, a conviction can add points to your Connecticut license and may affect your insurance. How much it matters depends on the details, which is why it's worth reviewing the ticket first.
