The wooden covered bridge along Route 316 crosses over a roadway rather than water — an unusual arrangement that locals note is hard to find anywhere else. Route 87 begins on the eastern side of town at its junction with Route 6 and runs southeast toward Columbia, giving Andover a second through-route that ties it to its neighbors. For a town this size, that handful of named roads carries a steady share of the area’s traffic.
