Ryan Hunlock

Ryan Hunlock brings an unusually deep background to traffic ticket defense. He graduated with high honors from the accelerated two-year juris doctor program at Albany Law School, then stepped straight into the Connecticut Superior Court as a Judicial Law Clerk — advising the judges of the state’s trial-level courts on the law. That experience gave him a rare, inside view of how Connecticut courtrooms actually work and how decisions get made.

From there, Ryan practiced criminal defense as a public defender in Stamford, standing up for people who needed an advocate against the power of the state. He carried that same commitment with him when he joined the firm behind Mr. Speeding Ticket in the summer of 2023.

What sets Ryan apart is the full career he built before ever becoming a lawyer. For over a decade he worked as a mental health clinician and later as an investigator for the New York State Department of Health — roles that taught him how to read people, dig into the facts, and understand the human story behind every case. He went on to earn a master of science in forensic psychology from Russell Sage College, on top of his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary behavioral sciences.

That combination — courtroom insight, defense experience, and an investigator’s eye for detail — is what Ryan puts to work for every driver he represents.
