Patrick Greenhalgh

Patrick Greenhalgh believes a person’s rights come first — and he’ll fight to defend yours. The country was founded on the idea of checked power, and to Patrick, that’s exactly the role he plays: a check on the state’s power, standing between the individual and the full weight of the government. When you’re up against that power over a traffic charge, he makes sure you aren’t facing it alone.

Patrick started out by joining the U.S. Army in the early days of the Global War on Terror, rising to become a leader in the Intelligence Corps. His job was to understand the adversary in order to outmaneuver them — work that carried him from Korea to Kuwait and ultimately to the War in Afghanistan. Standing shoulder to shoulder with people from every walk of life taught him a lasting lesson: a person’s real story is usually far from what others assume.

A native of Connecticut and a double Husky, Patrick earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from UConn, where he focused on criminal law and interned with the State’s Attorney’s office. That time on the prosecution side taught him how the state thinks and builds its cases — knowledge he now turns around to defend drivers. Before joining the firm behind Mr. Speeding Ticket, he clerked for the Connecticut Judicial Branch and later fought for individuals against predatory debt collection by major financial institutions.

Off the clock, Patrick is an avid player of games of skill and enjoys painting and playing piano. It’s never pleasant to find yourself accused by the government, but he’s battle-tested and won’t shirk from a fight — he’s spent a lifetime standing up to those who try to impose their will on others.
