Georgios Tarasidis

Attorney

Georgios Tarasidis is a native North Carolinian and proud Greek-American who has built his criminal defense career smack in the middle of Connecticut. He’s licensed in both Connecticut and Alabama, as well as the Federal District of Connecticut, and his law school recognized his early talent for trial work by inducting him into the Order of Barristers — an honor reserved for excellence in the courtroom. He’s also a member of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

His path to law began with history. Studying the subject in college, Georgios was drawn to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the trials that followed them — a pursuit of justice and fairness that inspired him to practice law. After all, he’ll tell you, history and law go hand in hand; without one, you wouldn’t have the other.

People often ask him how he can defend those accused of breaking the law. His answer is simple: he’s not defending the offense, he’s defending a right. There’s a misconception that defense attorneys condone what their clients are accused of, but Georgios sees it differently. What he protects is one of the most important constitutional guarantees in this country — the right to a fair defense, something many places in the world don’t offer at all.

In his experience, most people facing a charge aren’t hardened lawbreakers. They’re good folks caught in a bad situation — scared, worried, and feeling like no one is on their side. That’s where Georgios takes pride in his work: being the one person a driver can count on to stand with them. Whatever the story, he believes everyone deserves a fair defense, and he likes being the one looking out for it.
